Depending on the security guard job description, there are several security guard licencing available to security officers in the UK. These include:
Manned Guarding – this security guard licence covers multiple “sub-licences,” if you will. Security guard training and security guard classes for the licence will include cash and valuables in transit, close protection, door supervision, public space surveillance (CCTV), and security guarding.
Immobilisation, Restriction and Removal of Vehicles – this specific SIA licence is necessary for security guards who are responsible for patrolling grounds, car parks and garages, and any other parking facilities. This security guard licensing does not cover public roadways.
Key Holding – A key holding SIA security guard licence is essential in almost any security guard duites. Most security officers are responsible for maintaining restricted access to particular areas of facilities and therefore must have a key holding sia licence in order to perform their regular security guard job duties.
